Mikulas Mlcek is the Deputy Director of the Experimental Physiology Lab and the Head of the Medical Simulation Center for the First Faculty of Medicine at Charles University in Prague. He graduated from Charles University where he obtained a Ph.D. from the Department of Physiology. His thesis topic was based on computational modeling of the cardiac electrical field and excitation-contraction coupling. Since then, Dr. Mlcek's scientific interest has moved to experimental physiology focusing on interactions of the cardiopulmonary system. The major research models that he has been using over the past 10 years include acute respiratory distress (ARDS), extracorporeal membranous oxygenation (ECMO) and cardiopulmonary resuscitation. He has published over 35 papers based on his research in scientific journals. As an Assistant Professor, Dr. Mlcek lectures and runs seminars and labs in Human Physiology. In addition, he helps design and run specialized post-graduate courses aimed at ventilation therapy and trauma management in the Medical Simulation Centre.



Michal Otahal is head of the Intensive Care Unit in the Department of Anaesthesia and Intensive Care for Charles University and General University Hospital. In 1998 he graduated from the Third Faculty of Medicine at Charles University in Prague. He then started practicing medicine in the Department of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine for the Faculty Hospital Královské Vinohrady (FNKV) and moved to his current position in 2007. Michal is also engaged in research concerning critical respiratory failure therapy and positioning.


Anna Kozakova

Anna Kozakova is a staff nurse in the ICU and teaches at the First Faculty of Medicine, Charles University. Anna worked for 7 years in the surgical ICU at the Motol faculty hospital. She then spent one year in a medical ICU in Saudi Arabia before she moved on to Vamed Mediterra, a top European player in healthcare and spa facility management. She is also currently involved in a home care agency as a professional guarantor.



Steve Oldershaw

Steve Oldershaw is the Managing Director of LINET Australia, and he has 30 years of experience working in the Acute Care Medical Equipment Industry. His experience covers Sales and Marketing, Product Management, Training, and General Management. He believes in providing Premium Quality Products and Solutions that deliver measurable outcomes for Patients, Caregivers, and Facilities.


Milli Banks

Milli Banks is the Clinical Sales Manager for LINET Australia and is based in Perth. With over 20 years of experience within the medical equipment industry, her specialty is in hospital beds, pressure care, patient handling, and operating room equipment. Milli is focused on providing clinical product training to nurses and regional based business partners in Australia and New Zealand. Her role ensures competent use and promotion of the LINET product portfolio, as well as marketing and tender support for the region. She is also passionate about connecting with key clinicians and keeping up to date with the ever-changing landscape of healthcare.


Martin Ricl is Global Clinical Research Manager for LINET Group. He has eight years of professional experience in health care with a focus on emergency and intensive care. Martin also has eighteen years of experience in product management and working as a Team leader and a Coach in various medical device companies (Medtronic, 3M, and LINET).
