New LINET e-learning courses tested in Litoměřice
New LINET e-learning courses tested in Litoměřice
In January, the nurses of Litoměřice tested the first two of a total of nine new e-learning courses being prepared by LINET in cooperation with the Czech Nursing Association, the Litoměřice Municipal Hospital, and LINET’s European subsidiaries.
Two other courses entitled “Using a Bed with Lateral Tilt” and “Modern Acute Care” have also been prepared and their testing is to take place in February, again in the Litoměřice Hospital. The project “E-learning – The Transfer of Innovation in the Field of Modern Health Care Equipment”, the primary goal of which is advancing the education of health care workers, is financed by the Lifelong Learning Programme Leonardo da Vinci.
“With these courses we are reacting to the rapid development and modernization in the health care field, and are satisfying demand in the specialized education of hospital and medical institution personnel; we are doing so by presenting modern findings in a modern manner. We have prepared an easily accessible, interactive, and, I trust, fun e-learning course format,” explains LINET Project Manager Radka Pamětická.

The game application of the e-learning courses takes hospital form
The e-learning courses take the form of a game application available via the Internet. Upon logging in, participants find themselves in the building of a modern hospital and advance through each of its floors to educate themselves on given topics – they can activate video animation, view pictures, complete various tasks, all the while testing the knowledge they have acquired. The first two courses, dedicated to the etiology of decubitus ulcers and modern beds for critical care, were tried out in January by nearly twenty of the nurses from the Litoměřice Municipal Hospital.
“I give the course top marks primarily because it is comprehensible and easy to use. I really like the hospital building idea and also, for example, the fact that in the course dedicated to decubitus ulcers I was able to view pictures with everything described in great detail. I also enjoyed the use of comics,” so assessed her experience one of the nurses from the Litoměřice Municipal Hospital in an anonymous feedback questionnaire.

As 2012 progresses, all nine new courses will gradually be introduced to the application and will also be accredited by the Czech Nursing Association. In addition to the aforementioned topics, others are being prepared on home care, hospital staff and patient safety, as well as patient positioning and handling. The LINET e-learning courses will be available in five languages (in addition to Czech there will also be English, German, French, and Spanish), and thanks to cooperation with LINET’s subsidiary companies, the courses will be put to use advancing the education of health care personnel in France, Germany, and Spain.
