LINET Comfort Days: Celebration of the 20th anniversary

LINET Comfort Days: Celebration of the 20th anniversary
The three-day program of this year’s annual gathering, packed with events for partners and friends of LINET – the LINET Comfort Days – took place in a celebratory atmosphere. This year was the 20th anniversary of the founding of LINET which, over this time, has achieved a respected position on the world market in hospital beds and health-care technology.

The celebrations began early on Thursday evening in the Rudolfinum Concert Hall in the historical centre of Prague. The performance of the world-famous black theatre group of František Kratochvíl received well- earned applause from the entire audience of about 150 guests. Then a celebratory party took place in the vestibule of the Neo-Renaissance palace, accompanied by the jazz tunes of the Aries musical group.

An international conference was held on Friday in the Hejtmanský dvůr hotel in Slaný. Dozens of presentations were made on a number of subjects during this event. The greatest emphasis was placed on quality in connection with this Year of Quality; however, some talks were also concerned with the new standards for electrical beds, the use of European funds for financing, etc. Lectures were presented by all the foreign subsidiaries of LINET. The event traditionally culminated in announcement of the best partner and of the contract of the year. For the first time, the Czech Republic became this year’s partner. However, it certainly deserved the surprising success, because it was successful in all the key criteria for obtaining this award. “We can now pride ourselves in making a stable contribution to the turnover of the entire LINET company, corresponding to 20% with slight fluctuations. This is a good result for a country with 10 million inhabitants,” stated Radek Chvosta, the Sales Director for the Czech Republic, when commenting on the award. A consignment to Brazil at the beginning of this calendar year was unambiguously the contract of the year. The following evening party was also held in Brazilian style. The results for last year in e-learning were announced before the evening got into full swing. Here, the Bulgarian partner, the Siconics company, received an award for results in the team competition. Mo´ath Shaif Ahmed of the Atheel Trading Corp. in Jemen was declared the best student.

Everyone enjoyed well-deserved relaxation at the Brazilian party. But this was certainly not a passive rest. The temperamental rhythm of the samba during the spontaneous carnival procession brought all participants to their feet. The short course in a Brazilian specialty – the Capoeira martial dance – was similarly attractive. The wide range of foods and cocktails and other beverages contributed to the exotic atmosphere of the evening, full of dance and enjoyment by all the senses. There was even a successful fireworks display based on the theme of “20” as a magic number for this year’s anniversary, which lit up the square in Slaný and the sky above it.

Prague Siesta was the cover name for an interesting tour through the historical centre of the metropolis of Prague. The cultural-culinary trip began at Prague Castle. The walk in the hot weather led pleasantly downhill to the first stop – the Malostranská beseda restaurant located in a Renaissance palace, which is the former site of the town hall of this city ward. Pilsner beer was, of course, part of the traditional refreshment. The walk then led across gothic Charles bridge to the next refreshment stop. This took place in Obecní dům (Municipal Hall) – an Art Nouveau cultural centre in Prague constructed at the beginning of the 20th century. From there, almost 80 participants left by a specially adapted historical tramway to the river embankment, where a paddle steamer was awaiting them. The trip upstream was enlivened by a concert of the Havelka Sisters swing group. The tired sightseers could not resist their repertoire and the dance floor on the roofed deck was soon full.

In conclusion, we can only wish that next year’s sixth annual LINET Comfort Days will also be able to enjoy such pleasant weather and general pleasant ambiance.
