LINET employees once again support flood Moravia

LINET employees organised a spontaneous collection and collected EUR 2 650 to help flood-afflicted areas in Moravia. Funds were also provided by the company's management and altogether EUR 5 300 was sent from LINET to the bank accounts of two afflicted sites – the Wallachian municipality of Huslenky and the town of Bohumín.
Employees of the hospital bed producer from Slaný expressed their solidarity with flood victims for the second time now. Last year they sent money to two flooded villages – Jeseník nad Odrou and Barnartice u Javorníka. "We wanted to send the collected funds where they were needed most, which is why we decided on these two places," said LINET's Human Resources Director Vladimíra Michnová. The collection was initiated by the employees themselves, who gave up part of their hourly wages to those affected by the floods. The collected amount was sent to the mayor of Huslenky and the municipal government of Bohumín.
The spring floods caused enormous damage in Huslenky. The municipality has estimated the damages at nearly EUR 700 000. The destruction was wrought by both the Vsetínská Bečva river and landslides caused by waterlogged soil and constant rain. The results were felt by individual village residents, and the overall infrastructure and main roads were also crippled.
Like Huslenky, the town of Bohumín also suffered damage to both private property and public structures and utilities, totalled at EUR 2.9 million. Many people had to be evacuated, including 160 patients of the municipal hospital. For three days, the water seriously endangered two important switching stations, but they managed to be kept running.
LINET's socially responsible activities have an ongoing nature and are focused primarily on the areas of health care and social care. This year, for example, LINET launched a joint project with the Komerční banka – Jistota [Certainty] foundation entitled "Certainty with LINET". This project provides hospitals and seniors' homes with subsidies for the purchase of bed equipment. The Slaný-based exporter is also involved in long-term cooperation with the Civic Association Statim and financially supports the installation of new babyboxes. A number of Czech hospitals and nursing-care institutions have received electric positionable beds and other special equipment from LINET's product portfolio as gifts.
