Linet Comfort Days: hard work and wonderful entertainment
The fourth year of the Linet Comfort Days, a popular event organised for LINET’s Czech and foreign partners was crowned with success. In the last days of May LINET welcomed several tens of guests from 16 countries for which they prepared an eventful programme. The main item of the programme was an international conference which was traditionally held at the Hejtmanský dvůr Hotel in the centre of the royal town of Slaný. The common topic of this year’s conference was the effective use of medical technology.
The speakers presented topics to their colleagues from various points of view. The floor was also given to manufacturers, management of hospitals and nurses. LINET managed to address experts in the field of medical technology, and an invitation was accepted, for example, by Yvan Cox, purchase manager from the Leuven University Hospital in Belgium, Mark Green, clinical manager from the PSPT development studio in Great Britain and Eva Aišmanová, ward sister from Slaný Hospital. The foreign speakers presented topics to their colleagues dealing with patient and nurse safety, hospital bed standards, safe mobilisation or effective pressure sore prevention system and the specifics applying in individual countries. LINET was represented by its product managers who presented new products of the year 2008/2009, Pavel Pospíšil presented the newly developed Eleganza 3 XC bed, David Kosina drew attention to the safety parameters of the new Eleganza Smart bed and the innovation of the Eleganza Sito transport chair, and Eva Hrbáčková acquainted all those attending with the revolutionary system of the Virtuoso active mattress. This year’s novelty was the announcement of the winners of the 2008/2009 e-learning course competition. The on-line learning pilot project was launched a year ago in four language versions. The Latera and Eleganza 3 beds were presented in an untraditional way and a total of 80 students from 9 countries were trained. Prizes for the best student, who came from Spain and France, were presented by marketing director Tomáš Kolář through representatives of the subsidiaries Desan Flex and Linet France. The LINET Sweden subsidiary achieved the best e-learning result and the prize was accepted by its marketing director Jenny Sulc.
The climax of the conference was the announcement of the title of Partner of the Year. This was deservedly awarded to the Saudi Arabian company Salehiya, which mediated important deliveries of beds for the Ministry of Health in the Near and Middle East. The title of Biggest Contract went to southern Europe – it was awarded to important Spanish partner Desan Flex, which managed to allocate 4800 beds on the local market. The excellent results of individual ASMs were supported by an amusing presentation made by Jan Horák.
A specialised programme was not the only event organised for invited guests. The day before the conference they could attend an untypical concert given by the Nobles electronic string trio in the Baroque rooms of the Kaiserstein Palace. The evening visit to the historical centre of Prague combined with the concert and tour of the Lesser Quarter made an impression on all the visitors. The packed conference day was interrupted by a short performance of the Coro Aventino ensemble which with the aid of its Baroque tones took the audience back in time. After a hectic conference day a party full of bright coloured cocktails, tasty delicacies, temperamental music and unforgettable tricks by magician Robert Fox contributed to the relaxed atmosphere.
