Revenues of the company Linet rise by 18 percent

The company Linet, a leading world medical technology producer, is definitely continuing in its success of past years. In the 2007/08 business year ending 31.3.2008, it showed record consolidated revenues of 78 million € which, despite the strengthening crown, was an increase of 18 percent against the previous year. The company managed to achieve this positive result by sales at home and by exports which account for 80 percent of its production.

“The past business year was significantly affected by the large orders the company had won in the Czech Republic, and on the other hand by the negative trend of the crown and considerable costs of extending the network of foreign subsidiaries,“ stated Jan Horák, Linet’s commercial director. The Czech Republic thereby accounted for almost 20 percent of the turnover.
A total of 80 percent of Linet’s production was exported and was greatly affected by the strengthening crown. However the company managed to strengthen its position on major foreign markets. “We recorded an increase in turnover by 35 percent in central and east European countries, especially in Russia and Romania. There was sharp growth in Africa, for example, thanks to new markets by 740 percent and also in the Middle East by 125 percent credited to general projects in Saudi Arabia,“ said Jan Horák. The west European countries remain key markets accounting for 60 percent of earnings.
Linet’s direct operations on foreign markets strengthened further in the 2007/08 business year, so Linet’s deliveries to subsidiary or directly controlled companies today represent about a 63.5 percent turnover. During the last business year Linet established the company Linet Italia in Italy, Linet Sweden in Sweden and Linet UK in Great Britain. The network of subsidiaries, which was hitherto represented by Linet France, Spain’s Desan Flex and Linet Far East for the Far East, grew by another six. In the next few years Linet wants to continue building a direct commercial network and develop the prospective region of the Middle East, Asia and Latin America.
In the past year Linet has launched several new products including the Latera Care nursing bed which has a lateral tilt and represents an aid for turning an immobile patient on his side. This so-called lateral tilt significantly facilitates the work of nurses and carers and the life of patients. The Latera Care bed has already been declared the Innovation of the Year 2007 in the Czech Republic. Among other awards presented to Linet are outright seventh place in the ranking of the 100 admired firms in the Czech Republic and first place in the Industry category of the Web Top 100 competition for the best website.
In the 2008/09 business year Linet plans a rise in turnover by 22 percent. The condition is quality products and deliveries and the price will also play an important role due to the strengthening crown. Linet, which employed 580 people in its parent company and subsidiaries at the end of the business year, was established in 1990 as a green field project. Today it is the leading company in its field of producing hospital beds on the home market and one of five of the biggest hospital bed producers in the world. Linet’s products are sold to 75 countries in all continents.
