LINET, a leading hospital and nursing bed manufacturer, is providing long-term financial and professional support to pupils of secondary technical schools in the Central Bohemian Region. A special training centre for 300 000 crowns was set up for apprentices as part of the “S Programme” project which is designed to merge apprentice teaching with practical experience. LINET obtained the money from the European Social Fund (ESF) and the state budget of the Czech Republic for the “S Programme”. Students will master skills while still in school at the special training workplace for skilled instruction which will make their first steps once they start work easier. “The knowledge of a specific environment and realistic idea of the contents of the work in individual professions reduces the number of school-leavers unhappy with their selected field,” said LINET’s human resources director, Vladimíra Michnová. “More than half of the skilled apprentices who had the chance to undergo skilled training at LINET last year ended up working for the company,” stated Vladimíra Michnová.
Last year 11 pupils were employed by LINET. A qualified workforce is very important to LINET because 60 % of the total number of 550 employees works the production and technology area. “We expect that the modern training centre will make work at LINET even more attractive,” added Vladimíra Michnová. LINET will subsequently offer employment to those students who successfully complete the “S Programme”. An interesting motivating programme is also prepared for students besides gaining professional experience.
