The weekly Ekonom asked managers: How would you assess the behaviour of deputies and senators during the presidential election if the state was a private firm and you were on its board of directors?

Zbyněk Frolík
Managing director of the company Linet
The rules of corporate management cannot be fully enforced in politics. The parties may have offered us “their product” and we voted for them by this product. But there is more than one party that sits in parliament so the resulting product, offered and implemented on the political market, naturally appears to the public as mishmash. This is reality and that is how it will probably remain. It is a question of compromise, tactics and decency. Nevertheless, some partial product similarities between a company and politics can be traced. For example, a part of the product sold at ODS (chosen by President Klaus) should be risk analysis when launching a product so it can be successful.
